The music worker will be responsible for providing support to the music teacher in several areas: library maintenance, music instruments maintenance, printed and multimedia production, and classroom maintenance.

Designated tasks
Office assignments:
- Assist the teacher in preparing and distributing new materials for each music ensemble such as: prepare music folder for choirs, band, handbells and strings, file music in the music library cabinets by ensemble, and enter data records information of each title. - Organize and facilitate music instruments in the band storage room and hanbdells room.
- Assist music teachers with taking attendance.
- Design and print hand programs for specific music performances.
- Keep the classroom organized and clean:
- Maintain bathrooms clean and with the proper restroom supplies.
- Keep the classroom clean and organized at the end of each day.
Detailed assignments description
Classroom maintenance:
- Choir area: all chairs must be aligned and all folders must be on top of chairs. No folders on the floor.
- Band/Strings area: All chars must be aligned, each position with a music stand, and music has been previously provided, folders must be on each music stand by respective instrument. Percussion section should be neat and clear, no small percussion instruments should be left unattended. Place the small percussion instruments in the respective blue basket.
- Handbells: Keep tables in C shape form, with covers aligned and folders # 1-8 from right to left. Set with this format everytime the group returns from a performance.
- Band storage room: Must be kept organized at all times. Small instruments in the top rack and big instruments in lower racks.
- Handbells storage room must be kept organized.
- Trash cans must be emptied regularly. Do not allow trash to go beyond ¾ of the bin without being emptied.
- Clean glass doors every week.
- Pass the vacuum three times a week.
- Maintain the library area organized. No misplaced music on the library table.
Music folders maintenance:
- Check music folders are properly labeled for choir with a respective number, or band & strings with the respective name of the instrument, and handbells.
- Add new music into each folder. Use the “three holes” puncher when necessary.
- Retrieving music: sort all titles together, check the library number before filing the music in the library.
Music Library data entry:
- Access the music library database in google drive and select either: Band, choir, handbells and strings.
- Enter new works by title, composer’s name, arranger’s name, and theme (Christmas, sacred, secular).
- Match the number of the new work with the number in the database.
- File the physical copy of the work in the music library cabinet in numerical order.
Multimedia tasks:
- Assist the music director with support for video/photos capturing at music performances.
- Export and save digital files in the music studio computer for future use.
- Basic knowledge of Studio One v. 5. And Sony Vegas (Magix version 13) is required for capturing audio and video for music media projects.
- Knowledge of Canva design tools, and Microsoft publisher is required for preparation of hand programs for church performances, main music programs such as Christmas, Spring, and Music Festival.
- Knowledge of Weebly applications for music department website updates.
- Keep the recording studio area organized and set for recordings. The standard set is placing four microphones in C form in the recording area room.
- Check all audio cables boxes have the respective type of cables divided by: type (XLR, ¼ inch, MIDI, and computer cables).
- Maintain and update the music bulleting board on campus, 2nd and 4th quarter (Music bulleting board is the one on the student launch wall).
Music Festival Assignments
- Assist on the preparation and organization of materials for the event
- Festival promotional flyers.
- T-shirt design.
- Participants label design.
- Inventory of music equipment needed for the event.
- Assist on the moving of equipment.
- Before the event, all music stands must be properly labeled with the HVA name.
- Help at registration with passing all materials and t-shirts to the participants.
- Set and assist with picture taking throughout the event.
- Assist visiting directors with questions or provide access to facilities to retrieve “left behind” items.
