- Handbell choir meets at the HVC during regular time. 5:15 to 6:05. Please be on time.

- Band rehearse at HVC during normal rehearsal time. 3:45- 4:40
- Highlanders rehearsal at the church during regular rehearsal time 11:15- 12:05
* Friday: Dec 13
- 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm - Finale [Behold], and congregational singing songs: Rehearsal with all ensembles (Choir, Highlanders, Handbells, Band and Strings)

- Call time 10:40 am. [complete performance attire required]
- Strings and band on stage by 10:50 am (warm up and tune up)
- Concert starts at 11:00 am.
- After concert:
- Handbells: all equipment on red dollies and leave the everything packed in the sanctuary
- Band, pick up and place band chairs in red dollies, place music stand in stands-cart.
- Highlanders: place choir folders in blue crate.

Washington Adventist University Music Festival - February 14-17
We had a great time while participating in the WAU music festival. The clinicians were extraordinary. Students participated in master classes and applied for scholarships, while making new friends during the breaks and meal times. The HVA string ensemble represented our school performing for the Friday vespers concert among other participant schools.

New York Tour - Feb 9-10
A selected group of strings, winds and singers traveled to New York to participate at the Youth Sabbath in Jackson Heights SDA church in Brooklyn, New York. On the way to New York the group stopped at Wilmington Junior Academy, in Delaware, and Lake Nelson Academy in New Jersey. It was a great time sharing our music with students, making new friends and sharing about our school with members of the community.

HVA Music high season begins (Oct 23, 2023)
After returning from homeleave, the second quarter starts with the following events...
Oct 25 (Wednesday).
Handbells go to Toledo Ringfest. Departure from school at 10:00 am. Students may bring the luggage to the music department. The group will be returning on Saturday night around 8:00 pm. The group will visit Evergreen SDA church in Youngstown Ohio before heading to HVA.
Oct 30 to Nov 1 - Music students will be working in preparation to welcome visitors for the CCOSDA Music festival. Choir will be helping on setting up the gym, band and bells in setting up the band room and fellowship hall at HVC.

Welcome to our school year. All choir student will meet during this week for rehearsals and auditions. The main auditions will take place next Monday (Aug 21). However, returning and new students will be rehearsing for this coming first Sabbath performance (Aug 19) which will take place at the HVC. This performance will be with all returning students and selected new students. By next week all auditions will take place for Choir and Highlanders.

On April 23, the HVA Handbells group visited Frederick SDA Church. It was a great blessing sharing our musical talents for the glory of God.

A selected group from the Highlanders who participated in the mission trip to Holbrook Native SDA school, stayed for the weekend to film two new videos of the series "Sing to the world" This year's theme was "The Creation" featuring works from Heather Sorenson with instrumental arrangements of David Nino. It was an adventurous and inspiring experience to be there and participate of this extraordinary project.

On October 16 Music outreach to Catoctin SDA Church
Our second music outreach of the year in October 16 is confirmed to go to Catoctin SDA Church. We will visit with the Highlanders and Handbells. We plan to depart from HVA at 9:15 am. Breakfast for dorm students will be available from 8:45 am in the cafeteria. Village students driving directly to the church please plan to be there by 10:00 am. The church will prepare lunch for the group. We plan to return to campus by 2:30 pm. Parents are welcome to join us for Sabbath school leading part or the full topic of the Sabbath school for that day. Please let Mr.Nino know.

Ringfest is coming up
From Oct 27 - 30 The HVA Ringers will participate in the 2021 Toledo Ringfestival. Some general information. Cost: $170. Payment must be sent to the HVA business office by Oct 15. This year HVA will have a special feature partnering with the Great Lakes Academy Handbells choir. More details soon.
