The Highlanders are a dedicated singing group where membership is by audition. Most of the traveling is done by the Highlanders as well as for multimedia projects. Students in Highlanders are expected to participate in all performances throughout the year. The Highlanders are a select group of singers who are part of the HVA Singers (Choir), therefore, membership in the choir is required. While there are not additional fees to be part of Highlanders, the official performance dress and tux is required for every participant. Every year there is a choral festival at WAU or similar universities. The cost to participate in this festival is around $50. For major tours off campus detailed cost information will be sent ahead of time. 

The HVA Chorale (Choir) is the ensemble that is open to all singing musicians. This ensemble is designed for all students who want to experience choral music. Returning and new students gain choral experience through cooperative learning activities in order to promote higher singing skills and strengthen their social experiences.
